Pattaya's private medical scene is built around orthopaedics, dentistry and cosmetic work, and mental health provision is thinner than most visitors expect. Several of the city's own hospitals publish neurology but no psychiatry at all. This page gathers what providers in and around Pattaya actually publish today, from a hospital mental health department to a small psychiatric clinic and a licensed residential addiction centre. It is not a crisis service and cannot arrange urgent help. If you or someone with you is in immediate danger, call Thailand's emergency number 1669 or go straight to the nearest emergency department.
How we compared these services
We read each provider's own website on 25 August 2026 and kept only those that describe a psychiatry, psychology, counselling or addiction service in their own words. Hospitals that list a neurology department but no mental health service were left out, among them Pattaya Memorial, Pattaya International and Jomtien Hospital. Where a provider sits outside Pattaya proper we state how far away it is, because the drive matters for weekly appointments. We also flag when a service page is published in Thai only, and we do not repeat outcome or recovery figures that a provider reports about itself as though they were independently verified.
The Mind Pattaya
The Mind Pattaya is a small private psychiatric clinic on the third floor of the Minimall building in Naklua, opposite the Lumpini condominium on Sukhumvit Road, and it is the only standalone psychiatric clinic we could confirm inside Bang Lamung. Its clinic website names Dr Pars Kanluwan, a Siriraj medical graduate holding the Thai board certificate in psychiatry, and lists psychologists, psychotherapists and behavioural therapists alongside him. Opening hours are published as 08:00 to 22:00 every day, which suits people who cannot take time off work. The site says consultations are given in Thai and English, but it is otherwise written in Thai, so confirm English support when you book.
Hope Rehab Center Thailand
Hope Rehab is a residential addiction and mental health facility at Bang Phra, and it is not in Pattaya: its own Pattaya page states the centre is 35 km from the centre of Pattaya. The site says it is licensed by the Thai Ministry of Health and accredited by the Asia Pacific Certification Board, and describes cognitive behavioural therapy, trauma work, mindfulness, twelve-step groups, fitness and Thai boxing. Detox medication and medical cover come through a partner hospital nearby rather than fully on site, which is worth checking if withdrawal is likely to be severe. Hope also publishes its own completion and long-term recovery percentages; these are self-reported by the provider and we could not verify them independently.
Samitivej Sriracha Hospital
Samitivej Sriracha sits on Jermjomphol Road in Sriracha, roughly 35 km north of Pattaya, so it suits people who are already up that side of the province or who want a second private-hospital option. The group's own psychiatry clinic page names Sriracha as one of only two Samitivej locations running the clinic, alongside Samitivej Sukhumvit in Bangkok, and lists counselling, group therapy, medication and psychiatric consultation for depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, eating disorders, substance use and sleep problems, with hours of 08:00 to 20:00 daily. The Sriracha hospital's own centre list does not show psychiatry, so telephone first and confirm the clinic is running on the day you plan to travel.
Aikchol Hospital
Aikchol Hospital is a large private hospital in Ban Suan, Mueang Chonburi, around 45 km north of Pattaya on the Sukhumvit corridor, so it is a realistic choice mainly for people already living or working in that direction. Its psychiatric consultation page covers stress, depression, panic disorder, anxiety, behavioural change and aggression, learning difficulties, sleep problems, sexual health and alcohol, tobacco and drug problems, and says treatment is given by general psychiatrists and by child and adolescent psychiatrists. The hospital states it is open 24 hours. That service page is published in Thai only, with no English version behind the language switch, so confirm English-speaking support before travelling.
Choosing between medical and non-medical care
Before you settle on any name from this list, take the time to look past the star rating. A clinic's ranking here reflects publicly available signals of reputation and service scope, not a judgment of which therapist or psychiatrist is right for your particular situation. Before booking, it is worth calling or emailing directly to confirm the clinician's qualifications and the language sessions will be held in.
It is also worth asking, plainly, how a provider handles confidentiality. Mental health care carries a different weight of privacy than a routine physical checkup, and practices can vary between clinics. A reputable provider should be able to explain, in clear terms, who can access your session notes, how records are stored, and what limits exist on that confidentiality.
Finally, separate in your own mind what counts as a crisis from what counts as ongoing, routine care. A mood that has been difficult to manage over weeks or months is generally something you can address through a scheduled consultation. Thoughts of self-harm, a sudden psychiatric emergency, or a safety concern calls for immediate attention rather than waiting on a booking, and it is worth knowing in advance which local hospital or emergency service you would turn to in that moment.
If you are open to looking beyond Pattaya, particularly if travel for appointments is not a barrier, it may help to look at the broader mental health services in Bangkok, where a larger concentration of clinics and specialists gives you additional options to weigh against what is available locally.

Bangkok Hospital Pattaya runs the only hospital mental health department inside Pattaya itself, on the second floor of its E building on Sukhumvit Road in Bang Lamung. Its Mental Health Center page lists psychiatric assessment and diagnosis, medication management, cognitive behavioural therapy, music therapy, an inpatient psychiatric ward and a 24-hour mental health hotline, plus a named Sunlight Clinic for substance use and addiction. The team described includes psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists and music therapists, and published hours are 9:00 to 17:00 daily. This is medical care, so the psychiatrists here can diagnose and prescribe. Ask specifically which clinicians work in English before booking therapy rather than a medication review.
